Bikes

This summer weather has got me day dreaming about bikes. I can't get enough! I dream about riding down the city streets with the warm summer sun shining down and the wind blowing in my face. I would ride my bike everywhere! I would love to live in a city where there were no cars, only bikes. Check out bike rush hour in the Netherlands, where the majority of citizens doride their bikes (via a cup of joe). Also check out these amazingly fun bikes found at PUBLIC. I would take any one of these fun colored bikes! Side note: the founder of PUBLIC, Rob Forbes, is also the founder of DWR, Design Within Reach. (via Happenstance) What a talented guy!

Summer Sun

BFF

I just wanted to take a minute to brag about my beautiful little sister, Liz! I cannot tell how great it is having her back home! I think Liz did a little growing up down south because I truly feel like our four year age gap has shrunk to nothing. I look forward to spending the entire summer with my new BFF! I love you chop!

It's Another Gloomy Day

Today I am home sick and I cannot tell you the last time I stayed home because I was under the weather. The headache, my nauseated stomach, and another day of no sun has kept me in bed all day. I guess to look at the sunny side, I can finally catch up on all of my blogging and emails. I hope the rest of you are having a better day! All I can do today is pray for sunshine tomorrow!

Another Birthday

Another birthday for another beautiful friend of mine! Meghan is the leader of the pack and is the first one to hit the "old" age of 24, yikes! We are getting old and I only say that because in about two months I will be the same age. I am so excited to celebrate tonight! I made reservations at my new favorite hang out, Katie's Pizzeria! And I am even more excited because I have a few surprises up my sleeve that I will share with you all later. For now, Happy Birthday Meghan and thanks for always being such a wonderful friend!

Happy Mother's Day to the best mom in the entire world! I have no clue where I would be without her in my life. I give thanks constantly for the wonderful mother God has given me. She is the most selfless person I know and she deserves nothing but the absolute best! I love you mama!

Happy Birthday to one of my greatest friends in the whole wide world, Anna! I am sad I did not get to help her celebrate her special day, but we will be celebrating soon when I take a little trip out east to visit her! Feliz Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Doesn't this margarita look great! It's making me thirsty. For all of you who have time today to make yourself a little treat, I will leave you with this recipe from Williams-Sonoma, enjoy!

Ingredients:

• 3 oz. tequila blanco
• 1 oz. Cointreau or triple sec
• 1 oz. fresh lime juice
• 1 cup coarsely cracked ice
• Coarse sea salt for coating rims of glasses
• Several lime wedges

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker or a jar with a lid, combine the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and ice. Shake 12 to 15 times. Remember, the more you shake, the more the ice will diffuse into the drink.

Spread salt on a small, flat plate. Moisten the rims of two 6-oz. glasses, preferably long-stemmed, with the lime wedges and invert onto the plate of salt, then shake off any excess. Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses and serve immediately.

Serves 2

Happy Birthday Toms

TOMS turns 4 today and I would love to sing them Happy Birthday and commend them for all of their wonderful achievements they have accomplished in these past four years! TOMS has given over 600,000 pairs of shoes to kids in need, incredible! TOMS spring 2010 interns took on the project "Acts of One for One," which encourages everyone to perform an act of selflessness through everyday actions. Check out the fun video the interns made to see what "One for One" actions people are performing! Help the cause and do something for someone else today!

Meet Maura! I have known this little lady since she was just a peanut! My sisters and I have been babysitting for Maura and her also adorable brother and sister for years. I thank God everyday for bringing them into my life. She never fails to brighten my day, which I believe she will do for you all in the above pictures. Last year Bloomin' Buckets used Maura as our model for an ad we did for Ladue News. It took a few snaps before she warmed up, but once again, she never failed! These are some of my most adored photos! I love you Maura!
