I Heart Shoes

I have been eyeing both of these shoes for quite some time now and finally took the plunge and purchased not only one pair, but two...oops. Of course I loved what I saw, but when I put both of them on I feel completely head over heels! I have not been this excited about a purchase (or two) in a really long time. The hardest part of it all is deciding which one I will wear tonight. I am going to see one of my favorite bands, The National, with one of my besties, Nora. I cannot tell you the last time I was social/blow dried my hair to make it look socially acceptable. I love dressing up, especially since it has been awhile. Off to a looooong day of work, but looking forward to to what's to come!

3D

Tweet, tweet. My oh-so-creative mama found this painting awhile back, but just recently added her own touch. Wanting to give life to this painting she glued mini birds onto the bare branches and voila... a dining room masterpiece. Mom, your creativty never ceases to amaze me!

Dear, Dear, Dear

Dear 88.7 FM,
Thank you for your jazzy tunes that relax me every time I tune in. Without you, I would be a tangled mess.
Calmly,
Stress Case

Dear 70 degrees fahrenheit,
You are the absolutely perfect number. If you could show up every day, I would greatly appreciate it.
Freshly,
Finally Sweat Free

Dear Seinfeld Reruns,
I want to apologize for tuning in far after your prime. I am sad to think I wasted such a long part of my life without you in it. Thank you for reappearing late night. Your brilliant script takes me away and prepares me for a great nights sleep.
Better Late Than Never,
LOL

Another One Bites the Dust

Well, well, well, for the first time ever I can say that I am happy to see the weekend come to an end. This weekend has been nothing but long and stressful, to say the least. Thursday night my dad broke his femur bone. The poor, poor guy has the ultimate worst luck (he just had his hip replaced 3 weeks ago). He had to have surgery on Saturday and the icing on the cake... Bloomin' had three weddings. I am usually not this big of a debby downer and would prefer not to share the stress going on in my life, but funny enough, my dad (who knows nothing about blogs/blogging) told me in the hospital late Thursday night that I should blog about his incident. So this one goes out to you dad! Please recover quickly, it is getting quite lonesome at the house without you. Here are some great posts from around the web, sorry I'm a little late.

Oh Happy Day!

Every time we look back at this beautiful wedding we feel so lucky to have been part of this oh so happy day! The fabulous and ever so talented Cheree Berry said "I do" two years ago this month. I wanted to share some of my favorite shots. I am not even going to begin to go into all the fabulous details, lets just say it was one of my favorites! Happy Anniversary Cheree and Jeff!

Chop it or Leave it?

I have been going back and forth with the whole hair thing lately, do I chop it all off or do I leave it the way it is. I would not call myself a huge hair person and I believe that is due to the un-beautiful hair I was blessed with. I wear my hair almost the same way every day, pulled back in a low bun or pony... boooringg. I always love the idea of short hair and my favorite girl crushes pull the look off fabulously. But... oddly enough I am kind of liking the weird length it lays now. It's easy to pull back and make look somewhat decent. I'll let you know my final decision. Hair today, maybe gone tomorrow. Ok, ok, enough about me already. Tah-Tah for now!

Triple Vision

I find it funny that me and my two sisters have all taken pictures of ourselves taking a picture. Weirdness.

Sucker for Succulents

I have always been a big sucker for succulents. I find them adorable. Each one offering a unique characteristic. I plan on potting these babies up, contributing to the long overdo makeover my room needs. How will I ever choose my favorites, I may just take one of each!

Back to Reality

Monday: back to reality. I must say I was actually pretty excited to be back at work today. Sometimes after a long break it feels good to get back in the swing of things. Although, I must tell... I had an absolutely wonderful time on vacation. Northern Michigan this time of year is everything I could ask for and more. The jean and sweatshirt weather got me even more excited for fall. Pretty sunsets, long walks along the water, drives through the country, uhhmazing home cooked meals, I could go on forever, but for now, I must get back to reality!

PS- I truly missed blogging. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?! Hard telling, not knowing.

Happy Happy

I am so happy this weekend is finally here. I am off to northern Michigan with the boyfriend and his family. I am extremely happy because I love his family, but living all over the states, I rarely get to see them for an extended period of time! So sooo happy to be packing jeans, sweatshirts, a fleece, and my Merrells. Fall weather in Michigan + relaxation + a little hiking + a beautiful lake = happy!

I also wanted to wish one of my besties, Nora, a happy happy birthday! Hope you have the happiest of birthdays! Unhappy I am missing the festivities, but we will celebrate soon! xoxoxo!

Girl Crush

Drew Barrymore has been one of my girl crushes for quite awhile now. I never knew my love for her could get any stronger... until I saw Going the Distance. Drew's casual style, hilarious sense of humor, and laid back attitude had me head over heels. What a gem she is. I would highly recommend this flick. It is absolutely charming and you may or may not get to see Justin Long with some clothes missing (wowzers)! Drew, Drew, Drew, thank you... for being you!

PS- Is Drew Barrymore seriously 35? She honestly looks not a day over 26.

A Beautiful Braid

I have always dreamt of having beautiful hair. But, I cannot even begin to imagine having this gorgeous of hair and being able to pull off this stunning braid!

Horses

I have always had a huge obsession with horses. I am not actually sure where or when this love for horses began? I have probably only ridden a horse about eight times in my whole life. But when I think about horses, I can't help but think of fall, which is my absolute favorite season! I cannot stop swooning over these photographs. I am obsessed with the rich red leaves and the golden rays. Oh and these beautiful creatures have me yearning to throw on a pair of my old jeans with a warm wool sweater and ride off into the open fields.

One Last Look

I am loving this casual white shirt dress and her little navy sneakers. I thought I would take one last look at summer. Adios bare legs. I'm sure I'll be missing the summer's warm sunny rays sooner than later. Thanks for another great season!

Bucket Fillers

This past spring my mom and I made a trip to Chicago to collect a few things for Bloomin' Buckets and most importantly to become inspired. We became completely inspired when we saw these silhouettes painted on the wall in fun colors. We decided it would be a fun thing to add our silhouettes on the back wall of the store. It was tons of fun giving the Buckets a bunch of new "faces!" We call ourselves the bucket fillers!

A Wonderful Weekend

Lovely weather this weekend to go along with a lovely birthday celebration for my wonderful mother. With two weddings on her birthday we did not get to partake in much a celebration (minus doughnuts for breakfast). But we surely made up for it. After waking from a pleasant slumber I treated my mom to a delicious crepe at our favorite little spot and then off to the mall. My dad and I bought my mom the coolest rug from Anthropologie that we hung above their bed (pictures to come). My mom has always and will forever be satisfied with the simple things in life and for that I admire her. Last night when she was lying in bed she kept repeating, "I'm in heaven!" There is nothing more I needed to hear. I think my mom had a great birthday! Happy happy mommy dearest! Words cannot even begin to describe what an amazing women you are. Love always!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well! Here are a few late, but great posts from around the web, enjoy!

Donna Martin

It is really hard for me to choose a favorite from 90210, but... if I had to pick, I would choose Donna Martin. What a gem! I have always been an avid fan of the crop tops and the high-waisted shorts/pants. Sweet little innocent Donna, always trying hard to fit in. I don't know where that show would be without her. Donna, thanks for all the great years, you are truly an inspiration!

90210

Today is the only day ever where the whole day could and should be devoted to this lovely crew! September 2, 2010 (9/02/10). When 90210 is premiered in 1990 I was only four years old and therefore not allowed to watch the show. I had no idea what I was missing until about two years ago when my sisters and I rediscovered the show. Lucky for us Soap Net started playing 90210 and after watching one corny episode we were hooked. We started DVRing as many as possible and would rush home from work to watch them. I am actually embarrassed to tell you how late I would stay up watching these oh-so-clever episodes. With a busy schedule and neither sisters at home, I have sadly paused 90210 for the time being. I just thought I would devote the day to some of my favorite pals. Hope all you other fans do the same!

Jeans & Tees

My favorite season is quickly approaching and I cannot stop dreaming about my fall wardrobe. My favorite outfit of all time is jeans and a tee. I am obsessing over these killer combos Madewell has paired together. What a simple way to look chic this upcoming season! Fall, please come quick!

Post-its

I have always had a love for post-its; we go wayyy back. When I saw this chalk board calendar made out of the little stickies I thought it was simply brilliant! What a wonderful way to keep your life in order.
