Tah-Tah!

I have been looking forward to this weekend for a very long time! This Saturday, Liz, Molly, my mom, dad, and I are driving down to Watersound, FL and meeting my sister, KC, and her boyfriend, Jon! It is rare that we are all together and I could not be more ecstatic! We have rented an absolutely beautiful house on the beach. Having stayed there before makes me even more excited to go back because I know how incredibly quiet and completely relaxing it is! I thought I would share a few pictures that were taken by our friend, Randy, when we were down there two years ago! Although it may be hard to do, I am going to try my best to stay off the computer, aka the Internet, when I am down there and therefore I will not be posting until late next week. So tah-tah for now! Have yourself a lovely weekend/week! And please enjoy!

J.Crew Does Girl Scout Camp

*To make sense of this post, please first watch the behind the scenes.

If anyone has the right idea about girl scout camp, I think it may be Jenna Lyons. J.Crew's Fall 2010 designs are full of earthy tones, including many browns and neutrals, inspired by that camp look. I am not so sure how well these troopers will perform in the three legged race, but they sure as hell will win the award for best dressed.

Randi Brookman Harris

For those of you who do not know her, I would like to introduce you all to the crazy talented prop stylist, creative director, Randi Brookman Harris. Just to give you an idea of how amazing she is, let me tell you some of her clients, Martha Stewart Living and Weddings, Kate Spade, J.Crew, Real Simple, InStyle, body + soul, and Conde Nast (and that's only a few!) At this point in time, I am not sure who's job I envy more Randi's or Jenna Lyons. Please check out more of her work here. And don not miss the two fabulous little videos she did for Kate Spade.

Lazy Day

Whomever invented the lazy river, thank you, thank you, thank you! What a great invention; a pool where the hardest part is jumping in the water. Simply hop on a raft and your work is done! I don't know why, but I am feeling like a big bum today so this lazy river has never looked so inviting!

Home Sweet Home

After much talk and curiosity I finally made a little visit to my friend Nora's apartment. Oh my goodness!!!! This humble abode surpassed my expectations by hundreds. Of course I knew it would be nothing but adorably charming, however, it was even more! It is a teeny studio apartment, but just perfect for a one-bedroom. Hardwood floors, plants filling the windowsills, framed photos all over, a dressing room (yes, I said a dressing room), and grandma's hand-me-down's galore, it is just about everything I dream of being in an apartment. Watch out Nora, stay away much longer and you may find me in your bed when you return home!

Stackables

When my sister, Liz, came home today she gifted me with two of these adorable porcelain stackable rings from Urban Outfitters. I feel so lucky that she gave me two. I can't stop obsessing so I may just have to go get a full set for myself! I had to pass on the good news!

Pitchfork

These are a few of the pictures I snapped this weekend, but unfortunately I had to take all pictures on my iphone because my camera has been acting very strange. This weekend was a great one! So good to see some of my favorites (bands and besties)! Besides the extreme heat, long lines for beer and bathrooms, Pitchfork was everything I had hoped! I must say I was a little disappointed with the Modest Mouse performance, but LCD Soundsystem, alone, blew everyone out of the water (in my opinion)!

To go along with the whole music thing, I thought I would share with you all some songs I have been loving lately

Broken Social Scene: All to All
Broken Social Scene: World Sick
The National: Bloodbuzz Ohio
LCD Soundsystem: I Can Change
Panda Bear: Bros

Peace Out Girl Scouts

I am headed to Chicago this weekend for Pitchfork and I am jazzed! I am meeting J.B. and some other friends up there and staying with one of my besties, Christine, whom I have not seen in ages so I am super excited! As long as I can overcome the heat, I think this weekend is going to be a good one! My loves, happy weekend, xoxo!

Princess Olivia

Although I am embarrassed to say, I have never actually been to a bar/bat mitzvah before and I am almost 24 years old. However, I feel very fortunate that Olivia's was my first to witness. This picture perfect celebration was held on a rooftop in New York City and was shot by the amazingly talented photographers of "Our Labor of Love." They did an impeccable job of capturing this heart-warming night. You must do one thing and please look at the video of pictures, it is at the bottom of the post. I am obsessing and cannot stop watching it! Oh what I would give to be 13 again!

M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I

I discovered these stunningly intricate maps of the Mississippi River, or to be correct, I shall say radical cartography of the Mississippi River (via destined to design). These beautiful pieces were designed by Harold Fisk in 1944. Although his work is not for sale, I dream about framing these in my "home" one day! I like these maps even more since the Mississippi River runs through the wonderful city of Saint Louis!

Plastiki

The above hunk of a fellow, David de Rothschild, came up with the incredible idea of the above boat, the Plastiki. This eco-friendly boat is made out of 12,500 plastic bottles and sugarcane-and-cashew-nut glue, which is equivalent to the same number consumed every 8.3 seconds in the United States. Plastiki is currently being sailed from San Francisco to Sydney with the help of six crew members. Check out all of the statistics and track the voyage. Plastiki shares a great message with all of us, let's "beat waste one bottle at a time!"

Also meet two of the adorable crew members who were featured in May's Vogue

Finally

After many months of work and a lot of self teaching, I have finally completed my personal website and I am so excited to share with you all! Enjoy!

Twirl

I am so excited about kate spade's new fragrance collection, "twirl!" Just like all of her other doings, the perfume line looks absolutely charming! I am completely dazzled about a new scent! One more thing I have added to my birthday list. Check out the behind the scene footage for the new line. All of the glitter and glam makes me want to do a little twirl myself!

Summer Crushin'

I have the biggest summer crush on this girl and everything she is wearing! The simple bun, which I have always been a fan of, and her casual manner make me want to spend the rest of the summer on the beach. Standard Finery's entire Spring 2010 collection has just been added to my birthday list!

Dear Freckles,
Of you I will always be envious!
Xoxo,

Katie Daisy

I stumbled across these absolutely beautiful prints and had a hard time turning away. How lovely are these illustrations?! I have not been this infatuated in a long time. Katie Daisy is the incredible artist who creates all the above. I would be happy with any one of her pieces. Looking to purchase? Check out Katie Daisy's etsy shop.

Feeling a bit Neutral

Lately I cannot stop obsessing over neutrals! With a great summer tan and bright pop of color on the lips how could you go wrong with any of the above!

Happy Holiday Weekend!

I am so excited it's the weekend! JB and his brother Tyler are in town and I am excited to show Tyler some of my favorite Saint Louis places. The weather is also beautiful, which makes it all the better! I hope you all have a dreamy weekend and a merry 4th of July!

PS- I promise to be a better blogger next week.

In Love with Lavender

I have always loved the smell of lavender, but just recently I have become completely head over heels for this immaculate flowering stem. Lavender has become a must in every single arrangement I have sent out this week! These whimsical little treats add just the touch. As I came across the above pictures I cannot stop thinking about one day growing my own field of lavender! Oh, where would I be without day dreaming?!
